About Brendan Carney
Brendan Carney’s central interest is to help people live with boundless energy, thriving health and complete happiness. Brendan is a Licensed acupuncturist (Lic. Ac) with a specialization in Japanese Acupuncture Styles (JAS). He is Certified by the National Certification Committee on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in both acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. He has studied the Kiiko Matsumoto style of acupuncture extensively with renowned acupuncturist David Euler. Additionally, he holds a degree in Exercise Science and has been a Nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2001.
Brendan is also a Tai Chi and Kung Fu practitioner and teacher has been studying mind-body exercise for over ten years. He incorporates Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises into his acupuncture sessions, as well as Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition counseling, and tuina, a form of Chinese bodywork.
Brendan has experience treating people with musculo-skeletal conditions, such as back, neck or shoulder pain, and internal disorders, ranging from high blood pressure to colitis to various OB-GYN issues. For information on how acupuncture can help you, see the Treatment page. He brings a detailed, goal-oriented mind, a strong knowledge of acupuncture theory, and a passion for whole-body health that will help you reach your optimal well-being.
When he’s not at Acupuncture North, he adores being the father to two high-energy boys. He is a dog lover, an avid all-year-round surfer, an ocean advocate and lover, a recovering collegiate basketball player, a skier / boarder slopeside and backcountry, a hiker, a skater, a fan of the tasteful palate of 1970’s rock, modern and 90’s hiphop, and a gilded dodge ball assassin at Blitz Air Park.
